A Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament
(singles, doubles, lowtier, regional crew battles)

WHEN?
25th, 26th & 27th July
(Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

WHERE?

COST:
€40
This let's you stay from Friday 10:00 till Sunday 15:30 and participate in singles, doubles, lowtier and crews.
This also includes comfortable sleeping places (yes, actual beds) and showers.
However, this excludes food and drinks.
Food(including one warm meal on Saturday evening) and drinks will be available at a reasonable price.

PRIZES:
There will be money prizes for at least the top 3 players in the singles tournament and for at least the top 3 teams in the doubles tournament.

CAPACITY:
Up to 72 Players can enter the tournament.

Super Lion Tournament 2 !! - April 14th & 15th - Villefontaine (~Lyon)

Here we go again for the second edition of the Super Lion Tournament 2. It has some improvements, and unfortunately some disadvantages.

Let's begin with the disadvantages :
There were not any places left on week ends, that's why the tourney takes place on a monday and tuesday,

The improvements :
-The place we rent costs (only) 100€ for two days (last time it was 260€), so if the entrance fee is set to 10€, cash prizes are almost guaranteed.
-If you add 5€, you are fed during the tournament (3 to 4 meals).
-We have a 100 people limit.
-We will have a device to record finals/crews and other stuff.
-Salepâte will be at the Lyon trainstation (gare La Part-Dieu) on monday morning to guide people who come by train.

Entrance fees :
Lion Cub pass : 10€ - You can participate to every tournaments (1v1, 2v2 etc.) and you're housed for 2 days.
Lion King pass : 15€ - Same thing, but you get food (there's a good chance it will be noodles).

Cashprizes :
It willprobably be like :
1st 60%
2nd 25%
3rd 15%

There will be cashprizes as soon as we get 11 people.

The venue :
The venue is at Villefontaine, a city near Lyon. To get there, you can get a bus from Lyon (gare la Part-Dieu) which costs 2€. Timetables are http://ti.bug.free.fr/TRANS-1920.pdf. You must stop at "La Cruzille".

True, the PAL region does not have a confirmed release date as of yet... But I figured it wouldn't hurt to let people know already.

Shortly after Brawl comes out, me and a friend of mine are planning on organizing a Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament in, yes, Belgium.

Where?:
The tournament will hopefully take place July/August (depending on Brawl's PAL release date) and should take place in the city of Turnhout (or at least somewhere in it's immediate environment). We already have two 'potential' venues in Turnhout.

When?:
Depending on the PAL release date, but probably either July or August. I will update the exact date as soon as possible.

Rules:
Well, considering Brawl isn't released yet the rules are of course not set in stone as of yet and subject to change.
Of course, it'll be No Items, (probably) 4-stocks and it seems to me that stages such as Battlefield, Smashville and Lylat Cruise make for perfectly good random select stages with Final Destination highly likely to return in some form as well.
Also things such as "after a match loser picks stage, winner picks character, loser picks character" and "no stalling" are pretty obvious.
I will make a more organized list of rules as soon as possible.

Entry Fee:
We will try to keep that as low as possible but there probably 'will' be an entry fee in order to pay for venue costs and so there is a cash prize for at least the top 3.

Brawl Delayed Again

Brawl has officially been pushed back a week in Japan and a month in North America.

Though several online retailers had updated their release dates suggesting a delay for several weeks, Smash Bros. Dojo has now announced that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has officially been delayed in both Japan and North America. From the American English Dojo:

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we've had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.
I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

The Japanese Dojo confirms that the Japanese release has been pushed back to January 31, one week after the original launch date of January 24.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl was originally slated to launch in North America on December 3, 2007, but it was later delayed to February 10, 2008.
